Default Spektrum DX7 parts

First time here so pardon if I am violating protocol. My battery overheated and melted back half of clamshell. I need a replacement part. I am looking for a defective DX7 for parts. Is this the correct place to post? Don

dh, you may have damaged more of your transmitter than you can see. You would be better off if you send your transmitter to Spectrum for a thorough check before you use it again. Dan.

Default DX-7 support from Horizon/Spektrum

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Horizon/Spectrum no longer supports or services the DX-7. Or so I was told the last time I discussed the subject with them.

One more reason I'm considering switching to Taranis/Frisky equipment.

Thanks Dan. Patience is not one of my virtues. I flew two different planes since the incident without any issues but I am being watchful for any glitches. I am hunting for a back "clam shell" for the radio.

Ummm.....
AFAIK, Horizon has not quit supporting their radios other than possibly an issue with obtaining parts for out of production units. They have moved the service for all JR radios with Spektrum RF decks over to JR Americas.

I had a similar thing happen...meltdown of battery & localized area...I might have left the transmitter on while charging at the same time not sure.....but that transmitter then had chip damage.....trims would run to limit by themselves so un-fly-able...I looked on line "here" and purchased a so near new DX-7 it is better than new because the gracious seller included an extra New transmitter battery..new case, key, everything that comes New.
