losi 8ight 2.0 rtr servos? and telemetry tuning?
god... i just bought a new losi 8ight 2.0 and I know im going to need to replace the servos. just the numbers and brands get all confusing. what would be good cheapish durable servos for it? i want metal gears and prob digital ones but what do you guys think? include links in your posts please.
also the buggy comes with telemetry could i use that to keep an idea on the temp for break in or should i use a temp gun?
another thing.. the caps on the shocks are plastic do they sell metal caps for them? i have a feeling the shocks might bust... is that something to worry about?
im new to 1/8 rc so be nice lol

Yes they make aluminium caps for the shocks, as far as servos go, you get what you pay for, I recommend Hitec servos for the buggy, check out A main hobbies for all the buggys needs, tons of servo choices, but the good ones are gonna be in the 100.00 range. As far as break in, I would use a temp gun and run it on the box with the cooling head wrapped in tinfoil. Hope this helps.

ok can anyone provide a link for the metal shock caps?
as for the servo's will I really need to change out the throttle servo? I heard you can put the steering servo on the throttle (because it is a faster or stronger oz. servo?) and buy a new servo and put it on the steering servo. Is there any difference between the stock servo?

Theese are the shock caps
And the foil, wrap it a couple of times enough to keep the heat in thats all your doing, best to preheat the engine before starting, with a heat gun or hair dryer (preferably a heat gun) and keep temps between 220-250 range in 5 minute cycles, let cool completely with piston at bottom dead center, till you have a total of around 30-40 minutes of run time, youll have to run it on the rich side while keeping the temps up. thats the purpose of the foil.

This is an exellent example of how I break in my engines, it's not me, but I use a break in stand and all the equipment just about exactly like this, you dont have to use a stand but it does help, you can do it with the engine in the buggy but be careful not to melt the plastic with the heatgun, and drive the buggy gently on a hard, flat surface. go easy on the throttle (dont blip it, smooth in and smooth out) and keep a good eye on the temps (check often). Should be fine.
I wouldnt worry about the servos till you have to replace them, when the time comes, spend the extra cash and get the quality servos for it and you should be good to go!!

Quality servos that dont cost much is the FUTABA S3305 for steering. Run it on 6V not 4.8V though. Keep your other servo as a reserve just in case.
Other than that RCCHEECH is nown for giving good advice.
