Default Ansmann virus

I am still researching which 1/8th buggy to buy and was thinking of losi 8ight or hyper 9 but have come across the new ansmann viper big block and comes with ansmann w6 2.4ghz controller.
These cars look great and well built and are a lot cheaper than a losi.
Has anyone got any input about these cars as being cheaper makes me think they are not as good.

"Generally", in this hobby, you get what you pay for mate.

Good luck and once you do get something.....go have fun with it and enjoy...

Hi Exorsist, we have 3 Ansmann buggies racing round the track over here in Antwerpen (Belgium) and I can tell you they are very fast tough buggies well worth considering if you can find one.
Try to find out if your local hobby store sells parts for it though before you go forlk out a load of doe.

I was pleasantly surprised by what you get for Ansmann money. Ansmann is a German firm, buying Chinesse kits made to a price, but Ansmann then checks that they are at least serviceable before sending them out. This results in less large problems out of the box, but that's not to say you shouldn't perform the usual RTR checks, you absolutely should, even on RTRs from the top brands.

As for what you get in the 8ight for your money, the answer is a product developed by masters of the sport from the ground up for racing and racing alone, and constructed with high quality materials. With the Ansmann you are getting a cheaper, acceptable copy of a cheap car made with slightly cheaper materials. The difference is worlds apart.

You have only stated Losi 8. Does that mean the 1.0 version or the 2.0 version?

If you get the 2.0 RTR version you should also get with that package a very good 2.4 tx/rx as well as a starter box (because the Losi RTR comes with an engine that does not have a pull start or easy roto start)

This sways my personal opinion towards the Losi 2.0 RTR....if that was within my budget.

Having said that, the first thing I would do is change out the servos for higher end versions.

I wish you luck and whatever you do, have fun...
