Hello, I don't have a lot of experience with diffs but I had to replace a front diff housing on a losi 8 and it doesn't seem right... I didn't disassemble the actual spider gears in the diff, I just removed it, pulled the input shaft out of the damaged housing (didn't notice any shim or washer), pulled the two input shaft bearings and put them in the new front diff housing, put the input shaft back in, greased it, dropped in the diff and replaced the four screws. When I tested it for "smooth" operation it feels wrong. If I push in the input shaft it binds pretty bad. If I spin the front drive cups, it makes sound like the mesh is off.
So I unassembled it, looked it over, couldn't find anything wrong, reassembled it, and it doesn't seem right. Any thoughts? Maybe it's just supposed to be a little noisy?
Thanks. -Mick
