I got my Ofna 9.5 Violator! Pictures!
This is my first RC Grade Car. I have not ran the engine yet. I had some problems with my transmitter Ofna thinks they sent me a Airtronics with this RTR,but it's is a cheap Futaba. In fact this is the same "Futaba" that Duratrax uses. My only problem that took about 4 hours for me to figure out was that my transmitter batteries were DEAD!
Also the supplied stickers were not cut I had to cut them by hand!
While I was at the Hobby store tonight diagnosing my transmitter problem I went ahead and picked up a Hitec Ultra Torque Steering Servo # HS645MG.
Enough said here comes some pictures for all who are interested.

Wow! That is beyond cool!!!! Are you planning on breaking it in today? If so, given how friggin cold it is in our neck of the woods, don't forget to warm up that engine case a little first. If you don't it will be an exercise in futility! Good move on getting the Hi torque servo. With the stock servo, the buggies have the turning radius of a cruise ship. That hi torque will definitely swing the wheels and get you some maneuverability.
One word of caution though, that servo will kill a AA pack pretty quickly. Every so often, bring the buggy in and lift the wheels and test your steering. Once the steering starts to slow down, you'll want to think about changing the batteries. The last thing you want is a runaway because of a dead receiver pack. A throttle return spring or a failsafe might not be a bad idea. Another worthy investment is a rechargeable Nimh pack. They really put out the juice and replacing AA batteries can get pretty expensive over time. ANyway, congrats on the new toy. If you have any problems during break in, post a message or shoot me a PM. We'll get you taken care of. Enjoy your new toy!!!

Darn Cold today! I am taking a Hot Chocolate break and to charge a few batteries.
I had some problems with flooding, and that was giving me a hard time starting but I dumped the pipe and removed the glow plug and gave it another go. I am really exited to tell you that this is a blast! I am a little upset that the manual doesn't run me through a few things better. I also need to adjust the brakes, since I have none. I also have some road rims and tires to try in a couple days!
OH YEAH the baseball field is a LOT of FUN! This buggy handles Great! I am surprised that I haven't had any problems driving it.
dagass the buggy came with a 4 AA cell battery holder and a 5 cell NiCd pack! I am using the pack and everything fits inside the receiver box very neatly and very snuggly.

Baseball fields ROCK! That loose dirt is a blast. Looks to me like you're having some fun. How many break in tanks did you run and how does that roto start work? Details man, we want details.

Back from the baseball field again! This time the buggy fired right up! It's still rich so it had to warm up for about 30 sec. before I could give it any throttle. The buggy had just come from inside the house so it was warm! Earlier it had been in my van for about 4 hours so I'm sure it was frozen. I'm not sure what the temp was, but it wasn't supposed to get up to 40 F. today!
I can't believe how easy it was to start this time. Earlier today I had taken about every tool I owned with me to the ball field. It is about 600 yards from my house, which backs up to a park! This time I took Roto Start, which works great especially when it's charged. Glow starter and I filled up my fuel bottle and tank before I left.
The only time it stopped running is when it ran out of gas! That thing responds to every blip I mean every Blip without hesitation! I haven't even started tunning it yet! I have ran about 6 tanks through it already.
I am flat out amazed how good it handles! I am am/was a virgin and I figured that I would have trouble controlling this beast but I am amazingly very comfortable with it. I did cartwheel it tonight but that was because I was making a HIGH SPEED turn around home plate and went onto the grass a little. No harm at all, but I did have to turn it over.

Did you beat the throw to home? Sound's like you've got the bug! (no pun intended). Whats your take on the quality of the kit? From what I've seen, it looks to be solid.

If anyone is worried about it not being ROAR legal. The A-Arms are made to be cut down to make them the Legal width if that is important to you.

Well - if you cut the a-arms down then you have a regular 9.5 - You can get the violator upgrade kit for any 9.5 out on market.
Sound like you made good decision. I am thinking of getting my son(s) the MBX Pro. I am going to sell their Electrics and get both of my boys a nitro RC's to share. They usually jsut take 1 RC out and share when they go out anyway.
Keep up updated with the details.

RE: I got my Ofna 9.5 Violator! Pictures!
R/C car guy I ordered my Violator from Ebay. This is the the place that had them http://stores.ebay.com/id=8059189&ssPageName=L2
I checked today and they don't have anymore right now. However www.Nitrohouse.com does have them for $439.00 plus ship. I checked last week and they had them. I paid $425 plus shipping from Ebay. Good Luck!
I was thinking about how the first time I tried to start the engine it was cold and I put alot of Marvel Mystery oil in it. Now that I think about it, it was flooded before I even started trying to start it. The second time, in the afternoon, it jumped to life within 2 seconds of the roto start engaging!
From a Radio Shack special to this. I AM LOVING IT!
I guess that your are not alowed to list an Ebay address just go there and look up GAS Power Sales Stores ID # 8059189. But they still do not have them right now.

I got my 9.5 Violator with a Ofna .32 engine right out of the box for $399.99
I went through 9 tanks very gently & the last 3 tanks I gave it full throttle once in a while.
It screams, but the engine has not woken up YET! Revo & Traxxas rustler are smoking me.
Can't wait for the engine to break in & wake up.
Keep those pictures coming, I ordered the Mutulator front bumper which is a direct replacement on the Violator.
