Tuned Pipe for a 1/8 scsale buggy (.21)
Hey guys,
Looking for some recommendations for a tuned pipe to suit a Force .21 engine in my 1/8th scale buggy. I'd like something that's also suitable for RB Concept engines as well (since this is what I plan to replce the Force .21 with when it finally dies).

If you're looking for low end, check out the Ofna 063 (or the RB 063) and if you're looking for top end, check out the Ofna 086 (RB 086). Both are very good pipes.

I currently have the Ofna 063 on my Kanai II with an O.S. VZ-B engine. I agree it's a decent pipe. The header is held to the expansion chamber with three springs, which is good. It has a nice polished finish and looks pro.
But it's the pipe i had to settle for because you can actually get them. In my opinion the best pipe out there for 1/8 scale buggies is the O.S. T-2050. Good luck finding one though. Apparently O.S. doesn't make enough of them (or contract enough out; don't know if they make them or just spec them) to keep up with demand.
A local at the track i go to has a RB WS7 II in his Kanai with an O.S. T-2050 pipe and man, what a combo. He basically just blips the throttle a couple times down the back straight and he's already braking hard for the corner.

The Ofna 063 is basically a knock off of the RB Concepts 063. Both pipes have the same shape and offer the same performance. The price difference is mostly in the name (kind of like Levis Vs. Wrangler). One thing though is that the RB concepts version is EFRA certified while the Ofna is not. Some tracks may be sticklers for that. I've also heard that the RB pipes are made of a thinner material and are more prone to being damaged. II can tell you this though, the guys that have the RB pipe swear by them. Especially when you throw one of the Waller Power adapters in the mix.

I have an OFNA pipe. I do not see a differenc from one to the other other than name. I rather save the money. That - I also like the OFNA stuff - they don't make anything they sell. They always import stuff and put their name on it.

Anyone try the Ofna 053 pipe? I'm looking for the best of both worlds, better performance on the top and bottom end. Any opinions on the Ofna 053?

Trust me wonce you get that 2050 on there you wont want to change. I just got mine for my inferno sport and i love it. The thing has a wicked sound and is a very noticable difference in power.

Congrats on buying the best there is. I saw those T-2050's on EBay yesterday. They've got some in stock at Tower Hobbies too. Now if somebody would buy my Ofna pipe i could get a 2050...

The RB 063 pipe is not a low end pipe nor is the RB 086 a high end pipe, this is a common misconception. The RB 063 pipe is a good all around pipe with very good fuel economy, since 1/8th scale buggies are so overpowered the pros use this pipe since the need the fuel economy to lessen the amount of pit stops that they make per race. The rb 086 pipe produces MORE torque and MORE top end than the 063 pipe with the downside of fuel economy. I have had all of these pipes in both two piece and one piece design and can talk from experience. Another way to fine tune torque with the pipe is header length, the longer the header, the more torque, but less top end. Remember that a tuned pipe has a very narrow power band and you need to maximize it for the track and your gearing. For further specs of all of the RB pipes:
