Clutch problems ?
Hi all
just got a new H7, running the motor in at the moment, seems to take a lot of revs before it goes anywhere. brake is not on, could the clutch need adjusting? seems to be slipping. if so how do you do it?
Thanks

RE: Clutch problems ?
sound like to me that you car is just rev'in' to high... just adjust a the idle screw (unscrew - anticlockwise - i think... don't quote me) ... so it not rev'in so high...
do it at bit at a time as you don't want to revs to drop completely... the car should be setup so it jsut ready to engage the clutch... or even so the car is just starting to pull away......
good luck..

RE: Clutch problems ?
You're more than likely too rich. I've learned that the recommended run-in settings from OFNA (5 turns out from bottom) are too rich to get the car to move, even with the trigger pulled all the way back. I started my break-in procedure last Sunday and was amazed at how much I thought I was leaning the engine in order to get my Hyper 7 to move. Luckily I had an IR temp guage to prove to myself it wasn't lean at all. Your engine will more than likely pick up enough RPM's to move at around 3 turns out. Spend some time at the [link=http://pub77.ezboard.com/fofnaracingnitrotalkbackfrm25]Hyper Engines[/link] forum at the [link=http://www.ofna.com]OFNA[/link] website. You'll see just exactly how wrong the manual is when it comes to tuning a Hyper 21 8 port.
Good Luck.
