take it from someone who has an engineering degree and who has studied engines, forced induction, turbines, and all other power plants, that the benefits of supercharging on these engines are negligible because of the inherent design problems. if u dont want to take it from me, there was an article on this very subject with a dyno chart of the power output. this same subject has been discussed in the monster truck forum, and can be found on the first page. the power output numbers are posted. and there is a link to the issue. the additional HP from the supercharger was less than a 1/10 of a horsepower....
ill be happy to discuss with u why forced induction will not work on these motors.

how about this my friend
i used to have a yamaha motorbike (2 stroke) now the major power came from the "powerband" where the exhaust couldnt let out all the fumes at high revs some of it got pushed back to the engine and depending how big your port hole was you got unbelivable tourue but the problem was you either went crazy fast or silly slow no mid so the clever japs invented a powervalve so at low revs the valve made the port hole small and as the revs built up it opened up creating smooth power all round
so my clever friend would this work on a nitro engine and would it benifit

the powervalve might work but it would prob be a engineering nightmare for a rc engine.......heres another idea how about liquid cooling ...that in its self has pontential to be more consistent as far as engine temp....but again prob not worth the agrivation

It may be worth it after all. You wouldn't need that giant heatsink, or any of the cooling fins on the engine block. That weight savings alone could equal the weight of a tiny radiator, and a small electric motor to spin the water pump. Food for thought Mr. Rossi.

The problem in my mind, wouldn't be weight, it would be manufacturing costs, as well as durability of the engine case at the water jackets, as well as the connecting rod from the increased compression.

But you see the design is only thrusting down air via a fan and it has to make its way through the carbe and get to the engine. Oh and it will keep up with the engines revs you see they sell different ratios of the pullys and a supercharger runs wright of the crankshaft so every spin of the piston means every spin of the supercharger. That is why a supercharger has basically no lag or better know as Turbo lag.
The best possible way to maximize the performace is to have a computer controlled engine ( fuel injection) Which is probeberly impossible to have because you will need Air, fuel, crankshaft and more sensors hooked up just to get that and look at the size of the engine and car there is no way to get that stuff on the cars engine and chassie.
Blah, blah, blah lets just get a helecopter motor .96 or something and bolt that to your car problem solved lol.[>:][>:]

It CAN be done - 20 years ago I was told "you can't build a gas turbine in model size" - .Yeah. Right. You can do ANYTHING - all it takes is DESIRE and some money.
