I recently became the proud owner of the Limited Edition GS Storm Unlimited Truck with the .25 engine. I noticed on the diff cases there is 1 small set screw on each of the 3 diffs. When I tighten then down it locks the diff. If this what these set screws are meant for? If not what are they for? And would it do any damage if I did use them to lock the diffs? Thanks a million
Jay
BTW if you're wondering why I put this is in here...The GS Storm SUT is a converted buggy.

not 100% sure on the GS as i don't have one, but on most designs there is a hole (and set screw) on the side of the diff case at the closed end (the end without a gear screwed to it) to allow you to slide in the little pin that holds the larger internal diff gear to the drive cup which exits that end of the diff...hope that made sense...if you have the manual or an exploded view of the diff it should be clear what i mean...

ok cool. Thanks for the info. Another question...How would I go about making that center diff a lot harder to turn? I mean when I accelerate from a dead stop hard, the front end comes up slightly and then all my torque runs to the front. Maybe not totally locked but pretty tough for it to spin. Any suggetions?

stick 30k wieght silicone in the center diff. very thick. stick 10k in the from and 5k in the rear. 10/30/5
i have a storm and thats what i use. helps keep the center in order and the front from unloading during turns and loss of traction.
