i just purchased a Hitec HS-5925MG digital servo for my hyper 7 PCR. i have ordered a nice futaba FM radio, but it has not arrived yet, so i am still using the crummy AM 27Mhz radio that came in the box. so i plugged the new hitec servo into the receiver, turned the power switch on, using the standard 4.8 volt AA batteries, and everything started glitching wildly. i attributed this glitching to low receiver battery power, this problem did not exist when i went back to the original servo. i have a 6 volt 1000 mah batterypack, so i plugged it in, the glitching went away for the most part, but the power switch doesn't acknowledge being turned on or off. as soon as i plug in the 6 volt, the failsafe light comes on, indicating that the power switch is doing nothing. what is going on here? am i going to have to unplug the battery from the receiver every time i want to turn my power off?

Is the switch shorting inside or have you just fitted the on off plate the wrong way around on the switch.

You don't, by chance, have a switch with a charge lead and have the Rx and battery plugged into the same side of the switch do you?

That would reverse the on and off but it would still work normalish.

i don't know what happened, but one minute everything was haywire, and then everything started working properly. must have been passing through the tail of a comet or something, like in the movie maximum overdrive

Seriously though, if you have power sitting at one side of the swich and you gear on the other side and your fail safe was lighting up no mater what position your switch was in, then this means you definately have a problem with the switch, you may have jogged the switch or somthing and it has retuned to normal operation however if I was you I would be carefull, do you have a return spring on the throttle arm as if the switch fails during operation the fail safe means for ****, if you dont have a return spring I'd recomend one or alternatively it is only a few quid to replace the switch.

Try using a Y-connector (See the instructions that came with the servo. It will show you.) Also make sure you've got a full charge. Last but not least, it's probably best to just wait on the digital servo until the FM radio comes.
