My Ofna Truggy
I'm in the process of turning my buggy into a truggy. So far this is what I have done to my lx pro:
-Ofna 086 Tuned Pipe
-Waller Power Adapter
-K&N Air Filter
-Du-Bro In-Line Fuel Filter
-Ofna Brake Disc/Pads Steel Kit
-Ofna 5k,7k and 1k Wt. Silicone Oils
(Differential Setup Frnt-Ctr-Bck/5-7-1)
-MBX Pivot Ball Suspension
-Ofna Blue Springs (Medium)
-Assoc. Silicone Shock Oil 35 and 40 Wt.
(Shock Setup Frnt-Bck/35-40)
-Hitec HS-645MG Steering Servo
-Hot Bodies Devastator Wheels
w/ Deathgrip Tires
-Venom Onboard Temp. Monitor
-Ofna Micro Fail Safe
-Throttle Return Spring
-Proline H2 SUT Concept Lid
-2.5 mm Carbon Fiber Parts
(Servo Tray, Center Plate and Front Plate)
-Steel Braided Gas Line Covers
-8mm to 14mm T-MAXX Hub Adapters
What else do I need to do to it to make It run correct and/or strong. Should I get a larger spur gear and lower clutch bell? Whats all involved and does anybody have pics of theirs?
Thanks, Brandon

I have tried to do this with my mbx pro.
Here are the problems I have came up with. The stock gearing will not work. You will burn up clutches and bells like there is no tomorrow. I ran a 13 t bell and the stock 51 tooth spur and it did not last 1 tank. So you need to go with a 12 t bell and a 66 tooth spur from a monster pirate. Also you cannot run a center diff in a truggy. If you look at a Dominator or a pirate they all run center shaft spools. reason being the center diff, directs power where the least resistance is. so when you give your truggy gas the front end will lift up all the power will go to the front wheels and your wheels will balloon like crazy. I have been told you can clear out your center diff from the grease and oils and put silly putty in it to lock it, but have not tried it. I am awaiting a center spool from a MP to try to fit into my mbx pro, this way the power is distributed evenly to the front and rear.
Again this has just been my results, I hope this info has helped and let me know if you have any questions

RE: My Ofna Truggy
Thanks for all your posts guys, It was a lot of help. I'll post pics as soon as I'm done. I'm still debating whether or not to go with the MP spool and spur.
Does anyone know the Tower Hobbies part # for the MP Spool?
Thanks, Brandon

RE: My Ofna Truggy
its a proline crowd pleazer body I took off a t-maxx. I'm still using the stock gx21 so I dunno if the reason I'm not getting problems with the center diff is the engine is weak...I have some 40k diff oil on order in case it ever does...that will pretty much lock it up.

RE: My Ofna Truggy
The MP/Dom spool in no way be modified fit the ultra tranny mounts, I've actually tried.
The mainshaft shaft on the dom is to long but thats not the real problem, it uses a smaller inside diameter w/ larger outside diameter bearings eliminating any chance of modifying the stock Ultra bulks to accept the larger bearings, simply not enough "meat" to work with.
Transplanting a Dom tranny assembly onto the Ultra chassis isn't an option unless you want to ALSO relocate or change the fuel tank.
An Ultra solid center kit (spool) can be modified to fit the MP spur gear which is the only EASY way, but its only one of many mods required to successfully complete this conversion.
Once you get the spool and MP spur figured out, the fun/mods really starts. I spent a month doing my first "scratch built" conversion. Although I was more than pleased with its performance, it look'd like crap so I started over and copied the factory look as closely as possible, now it looks like any other M Blazer, only now packing a punch.
If you want any form of a stock "factory" look and like to save yourself alot of trial and error, not to mention wasted $$$ and aggrevation, drop me an email [email protected]

RE: My Ofna Truggy
Considering you've done the home grown version, you know what all is involved. Given hind sight, wouldn't a $55 kit that included everything, bolts on in 2 hours, and looks completely factory be considered a screaming deal?
I didn't design the M Blazer, I made it better. MM

RE: My Ofna Truggy
for 55 bux thats not bad at all. but what all is included? the main things you need are new front shock towers, another set of rear shocks, and.... different gearing. correct? im pretty sure the kit will not include rims and tires, which in my opinion are the most important. start off with rims and tires seeing as you need them anyways. see how you like that and how the suspension works factory. deffinetly change the spur. i heard a 64 is what they run (i may be wrong)

RE: My Ofna Truggy
I was asking theShark since he had done the getto version of a driveline
upgrade. The kit Im referring to doesn't include wheels, body or mounts, or shock towers, those are personized items that should be purchased seperately and not dictated by what comes in a kit IMO.
The $55 kit I was referring to includes...
HD Mainshaft w/hub (spool)
Dom Spur, plastic 65 tooth
Tranny lift kit
new 7075 T-6 tranny plate
new 7075 T-6 radio tray
new linkage rods (2)
All neccessary hardware and set up instructions.

RE: My Ofna Truggy
My kit is for the Ofna's Ultra "series" of buggies, those include the
M BLAZER, GT, GTP, GT LX, LX Pro, and MBX chasis's. Im told it will fit on the Worlds platform also but I cant confirm that.
pics are at perfplusparts.netfirms.com

RE: My Ofna Truggy
The center diff WILL work in the buggy. I owned an HCR Mutant and messed around with the gearing alot. At least use the 55t/11t combo both of which can be found at Tower Hobbies. The 55t spur is a Duratrax and the 11t clutch bell is Kyosho. If you go into the 60's you will have to space up your center diff alot so it clears everything. Try looking at holeshoteng.com for some carbon truggy kits. One of the guys at my lhs used the Ofna locked diff in his buggy and he was breaking teeth on the spur gear because it had no give when he hit after a major jump.
Hope this helps
