Sorry I was in a hurry. I replaced the clutch shoes, glow plug and charged the battery and ingnitor and I still can't start it. The idle is set fine. No It isn't the first time I've started it. I've broken it in and been driving it for about a month. It's never done this. [sm=confused.gif]

Check fuel is getting through (remove glow plug and turn it over, fuel should spit out of the head) Maybe you have a blockage.
It might also be worth checking the carb again, have you still a 1mm gap when idle?

OK this is a back to basics
First off all check the NEW glow plug by taking it out and putting it in the Ignightor it should glow at the bottom a bright orange colour!! If it doesnt thats your prob
Other wise yeah burnt toe gave you some other possibilites so try them and come back and let us know
also if its not working then you will need to give us a few more specifics to help!! i.e How many turns is low end and high end needles and what happens when u turn it over with out a glow plug in? is fuel getting to the carb? is the idle needle set right?? AS Much info as you can!

OK this might not be a tuning issue.
When you replaced the clutch bits, you had to take the engine out right?
On this point when you refitted the engine did you set the tooth mesh correctly?
A way of checking is to put the buggy on the floor, release the brakes and try to push the buggy, if its too tight then you'll find you struggle to move it. This friction is what is stoping the engine from starting.

I think I found the problem. I adjusted the brake linkages but when I hit the throttle and then let go It applies the brake. The little linkages are getting stuck and my servo Is having trouble closing the carb.

Hey if you have stock servos then I would replace them with something in the 150oz. torque range first. Stock servos will quite and leave you with a buggy heading out on a drive with out you, assuming you get it to start!
Sounds like a possiable air leak at the carb or backplate. Remove both and reseal them with a VERY small ammount of silicone RTV. Then after its back in the car, pull the plug and spin the engine to clear it out. Check the plug for glow and install it. Prime the engine with a little shot of fuel then put your glow on and spin it thru. If this doesn't work post again.
Let us know. BTW a tight gear mesh will not keep the engine from starting. The gears are not connected to the crankshaft. Its that little thing called a clutch that prevents that from happening. Thats why the car doesn't move when its at idle.
Good luck. Check out this 8th scale forum too.

there is nothing wrong with a bit of brake in nuetral! as for the carb not closing i dont think this is a issue for starting cause if anything it helps to have the carb open when starting the car! Its when its too fat closed you wont be abel to start so i think u need to re evaluate!
