Is that normal for the 1/8th scales buggies to always bottom out. Mine was slapping the dirt real hard, I accually broke a shock in the front. It's a Hyper 7 Pro with the Ofna Comp. .21.

No indeed it should be bottoming out so hard that a chock snaps, but they do slap a lot on the big jumps. JUst a quickie from me but have you done any chassis tuning since you bought the buggy? They dont reall come RTR and the diffs and shocks should be lubed up before you begin on the rough stuff.

I have done lots with me EB4 with both diffs and shocks.
The biggest problem i have with the EB4 is that if it nose dives abit the chassis digs in and just about stops it dead
It has a front plastic bumper but it does'nt help much
Any ideas guys
Thanks in advance

i think you gotta look at how you land , keep your nose up. use heavier shock oil and adjust your droop down all the way if your bashin ... im sure everyone else has already suggested these things but its friday night ....

The other front shock looks bent too. Sure you didn't land vertically nose down?

I'm kind of surprized that the shocks did not break in the past. I've landed at all different angles . I learned the hard way on how to keep the buggie level in the air, and what to do if the nose is too high up or down via brakes and throttle. I plan on going over all the shocks and diffs Sunday. Saturday is Onroad racing and I'm still working on my NTC3.

adam, was that on purpose or on accident? I've always wanted to see it done, and I'm definitely not going to try to front flip my new buggie. Nobody at my track has pulled one off, on purpose at least. However, I did see a mid-air collision that resulted in a pretty cool accidental barrel role.

CHassis slap is good. The only wa to not get it to slap would be like 100 weight shock oil...but that wuld blow your shocks or bent up the towers...so slap is much much better hehe. I know a guy who jumps his truck 60-80 feet on a daily basis and he says chassis slap is the way to go because all the energy is transfered through the whole vehicle instead of just into the shocks and through the tower.

that time i was actually trying to do that & get it caught on camera
i had done a massive one about 10 minutes before that during the A final, completely by accident though as that jump has a nasty lip that sometime kicks the back of the car up really bad!
even a handfull of throttle will only make you land upside down so your best bet is to try & ride it out
there were many crashed attempts at pulling that flip[:'(]

sometimes off that jump the car just flys long & straight, other times we're upside down
any 1/8 buggy can fly
you just gotta be comitted enough to hit the jump flat out[>:]
the longer you're in the air the longer you've got to sort it out for a good landing
