Default PRE-IGNITION ??????

While I had the plug out to put in some after run I noticed that the top of the piston is pitted. Could this be due to pre-ignition? If so, how can I cure the problem? Should I try a cooler plug?? The car is a K2 and the engine a Rossi Silver Arrow, fuel Byron 25% and the plug I was using today is a Rossi RT5 Medium Turbo. I noticed that the car when idling sounded a bit like tapping an empty Coke can with a steel rod. Any advice appreciated.

Yes go with a "Cold" plug
High compression engine with High nitro needs a cold plug to prevent just that.
You'll find it easier to tune as well
