Default Setup Question

Hi there All

Just thought I would ask few few questions as I am new to RC.

I have just got a Lightning2rr RTR buggie, so far I have run the engine in without any problems and it seems to be running nice and fast without over heating. The only real problem seems to be that when I try and trun fast when moving at speed the front end dips and the rear of the buggie flips over (So far only running on flat grass areas). Is this me trying to turn to fast ? or do I need to add a few extras like the Front Stabilizer (Anit Roll Bar I think), I am not sure which oil is in the Shocks DOH and I am not sure how good the springs are that came fitted.

I have to admit it dose seem to be a strong buggie as I have had a few crashes but nothing to bad. Even After my dads Thunder Tiger Monster Truck hit my buggie head on the only damage was to the rear deck wing (But I have already had to fix that part a few times already due to fliping the buggie over when turning).

There is another member on this board that was flipping in the grass, and found that tightening his stabilizers helped straighten out the buggy. I have always run without them when I started getting flipped over, but tightening them up worked for him, so you might give that a try.

Tks for the reply

From the searches that I have done and the replys that have come in it seems that there could be a lot of factors that can cause you to filp, from the tyers, springs, shock oil and lots more.

The main thing that keeps coming up is that it mainly happens on Grass DOH.

Hi there

Still running with Dif oil supplied but will be changing it soon once I ask around and get some advice on what to run (plus I might also see how much the hardened Difs for the Lightning2 are ?). Also need to know which springs to try as I have heard the Blue Kyosho are very good ?

Sorting a doble Air filter out tommorow and some filter oil as I do not have any yet.

50wt front and 40wt rear and Baby Blue Kyosho springs are suppose to work very very well. As for dif oil, try running 5k front 7k middle and 1k rear.

The springs go for about 14 US for 2. So around 28 us for all 4. You can get some off ebay for 20 us buy it now or like 15 depending on how many bids get in.

Hi Again

Tks for quick reply, just wanted to have an Idear before I whent out shoping for bits tommorow LOL.

Still working on my buggie setting it up and I have had to retune the engine after resetting the fuel settings, When I was setting the throtel linkage up doh truned the wrong screw AAAAHHHH meant to turn ideal screw.

I have fitted new wing as Lightning2 wings are brittal and brake easly, Have moddifed wing mount so it will take a Hyper Wing, have added inline fuel filter and new fuel lines, I am getting a anti-bend rod for the front, plus some anti-sway bars for the front (they are on order), will be getting a double air filter and possable some new springs tommorow.

Hi there

As RTR go it came with nearly everything to get me started , I only had to get some fuel and a battary for the rotor start (stole from my dads boat lol), it even came with glow starter not to good though and even came with a full set of battarys for the buggie and transmiter. The only prob is I have been reading these forums and think I am a bit of a boy racer and need more from my buggie LMAO. Only upgrading becuase I want to and it will also make my Lighning2 different from othere ones and I will also be able to tell if I have learnt anything from what I have read once I meet up with othere and see how it go`s.
