Default when the car is stationary should it roll freely?

When I turn on the car and steering control should the car roll freely or should it be still as though the brakes are on? At the moment my car is stuck in brake until I press forward on my gas on controller unit? Is this right? Oh and this is of course without the engine running.

Ta for any help. I am trying to set up the brakes!

unless you're setting your car up with "drag" brakes the car should roll freely
i wouldn't run drag brakes on a buggy as they can complicate things while jumping!

Set your throttle trim forward a bit.

Take the time to get your linkage set correctly and save your trim for when you don't have time to do the linkage.

drag break is horrible unless your car is on the verge of doing a back flip
