Yea...get the ofna chrome top starter box..comes with battery and power panel and glow plug ignitor... and twin 550 motors...something like whats in the e-maxx...lol..not really but it does the job well and is nice and compact. Turns over even my tightest motors during break in.

Get the blue ofna chrome top. Comes with a 12v motor. Supposed to be better than the twin 550s, but I don't know. But the blue ofna chrome top has served me and others at my track well. Model 10250

anyone use or know someone who uses any gear driven starters like the Sullivan Tiger Drive? For $20, it seems convenient, just use a good drill...

Also, would an Ofna starterbox work with my Duratrax Axis?

Yes..the ofna boxes are adjustable...except for the one that comes with the rtr hypers. And the twin 550 motors does a better job than the single 750 motor thats in the blue ofna starter box...Wayy more torque...but it does eat up those 12v gell cells a bit quicker...regardless..i get about 3-4 weekend out of my batter before a trickle charge.

I've always had bad luck with the twin 550 motor setups. They would always eventually burn out which I guess everything would eventually wear out but I mean, it was almost like they never had the extra juice to turn the big-blocks. I now use the Ofna blue box with the chrome top that comes with the single 750 motor. The one that I brought required assembly. But it a real good box. I paid $65 US for it at the hobby shop.

Really...odd.....Ive had mine for about 6 months and its been great (finger crossed) and its turned over all of my tightest motors. Mac Mod .21, HotMod P5, Hyper 21, Top 421B, WS7II, C5 Rody...etc. Only time will tell how long it hold sup I guess.
