When I first putch my clutch together, I put regular clutch shoes on it. After about 2 tanks of hard running, the shoes were worn down to nothing. I replaced the shoes, and again they wore down to nothing. Now I'm getting frusterated, so I buy a set of aluminum shoes... problem solved, sort of. Now the shoes are good, but the bearings get worn down every 4 tanks. After going through about 5 sets of clutch bearings, I finally find the problem when my clutch bell won't sit over the edge of the flywhee. The problem was the clutch nut was not tightened down enough and was pushing everything inside together. What I'm wondering is, was that the reason the clutch shoes we're being worn down so much so fast? Could the shoes have not been being sprung good if they were sitting bad of the clutch nut? Please help me think about this. Because I am really ancious to know if that was the problem. I am sick of aluminum shoes, and having to grind them down every 5 tanks.
I'm sure you nitro experts could help me with this one.
Thanks

Well if I get this straight, your clutch nut was pushing the shoe and jamming the clutch bell
And also the bell was rubbing the flywheel? This one confuses me, why this wasn't killing the engine I don't know. Unless you never use your brakes
Well my best guess, it sounds like some sort of binding is happening, that will cause excessive heat!!
Which will cause the shoes to wear faster than normal, then replacing them will aluminum shoes has also caused excess heat which will cook your bell bearings. Heat is the enemy
Get everything tight and shimmed properly and run stock Mugen or Ofna shoes with mugen 1.1 springs
They will last a long time
