Default Starter Box problems

I just bought a team magic starter box and placed a 12v gel cell into it.I have not used it as yet but i left the starter at my friends house and temptation got the better of him, so he tried it out on his schumacher swift. My friend phoned me and he was going mad, his engine was hydro locking, he mentioned that he thought the starter was turning to fast. This is new to me and i still have`nt used the starter box yet as i might get the same problem. Our engines are all pull start type but, from what i hear we should`nt have any problems.Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be ? .

You shouldnt have any problems with using a starter box on a pull start engine.....

AS LONG AS IT TURNS THE ENGINE THE RIGHT WAY.....
