Hey all, I was looking around TWF8's website for some buggy reviews and came across the the Protech buggy. It looks pretty decent and well made.
Here is the link is http://www.twf8.ws/new/review/protechreviewindex.html
Is there an American equivalent to this buggy? Perhaps under a different name here in America (i.e. OFNA is comprised of Hong Nor and Ho Bao)?

Its a piece of junk! Some young kid was driving one at the track, and it broke about every other minute. I felt sorry for him, but yea... unless you have lots and lots of experience with modding and working on buggies i'd stay away from them. If you really tried i think you might be able to get one to work right, but its better to just buy a good one in the first place.

Oh wow, talk about conflicting oppinions! What exactly breaks on it every time? I emailed Paaco from TWF8 about the buggy and am waiting for a reply from him. He should have a reply by tomorrow since he is good about returning emails.
Browney, can you PM me some pictures of your buggy?
Memopad, where did that kid at your track get one of these buggies?
Thanks for all your replies guys.

Oh dear, I was just strolling through the forums and came upon another thread similar to mine about the Protech buggy. I just want to give everyone my apologies for duplicating an existing thread. I hope the mods can delete this thread.

The motor had a nack for comming loose even with locktite, seems like the pull start broke right away, there was some sort of problem with the wheel staying on the axle, the whole drive train just seemed a little shakey in general. The kid bought the thing on ebay, and then got a radio at the hobby store to get it running. I broke it in for him, and i will say that the engine starts easy. Once the thing is going it actually accelerates really fast because it was so light + 4wd (its a 10th buggy i think, deffinatly not 8th) it just didn't handle any other part of the track well at all. But if you want to try one go for it, i think you can find them rtr on ebay for around 140 brand new.

what? the buggy is great! the only bad thing is that it comes 80% preassembled, 2 of my friends got them, its way better than any ofna\ho bao I`ve ever seen! also better than inferno 7.5 (maybe no k2/k3) I`ve ever seen, memopad: ever seen a 1:8 scale buggy? theres no question its 1:8!
