when I apply my brakes my engine cuts off and also my tick over only lasts about 10seconds I was told to change my idle screw till there is a 1mm gap when the brakes are on but what ever way I turn it no gap appears

after u adjust it give it some gas and let go jest so the setting sets in. if it shuts off u may need more idle.
F.Y.I u need to tighten the screw not losen it to have more idle or more gap

pull the air filter off and look through the carb, when u apply full brakes do u see the carb close fully? if so then you need to open it up more so when you DO apply brakes it still stays open about 2 to 3 mm....it may stay just enough open when your servo is in the neutral position to keep it running but when u apply brakes it counteracts the throttle closing it....you may need to adjust your servo a bit after doing that
