Marty's wasn't finished but Garrens was, Looks like it drove fine but i realy didn't pay much attention because when he was running so was I and 4-5 other buggies.
I really can't report anything good or bad. althou it was purty

Hey FHM101! What do you mean by R/C Car "panned" the buggy? Is that a good or bad thing? So far, I ran into a few problems with my Avenger.
My front pinion diff gear gave out. Then later my rear pinion diff gear gave out when I tried driving the buggy in 2WD mode. However, the clutch bell did not melt like the first Storm did. But the old problem has plagued this buggy as well. Maybe I got the once-in-a-blue moon defect pinion gears. Who knows. I should take it apart sometime and send it in to GS Racing. It is a shame Winter came so quickly and I just recently built my buggy only a couple weeks ago.
I cant really give a good 1st hand review of my Avenger since I didnt get to drive it well enough before the diff pinion gears gave out. However, given the probable 10 minutes I did have with the buggy, it handled like a dream with all settings zeroed out. I ran the Proline Dirty Harry tires. The wing on my Avenger is very very sturdy as well.
Oh how I wish I had more time...

They were much less than impressed. Said it flew real well, but they chased setup all day and never got the car settled. They also had breakage issues and thought the diffs were a major pain to get to compared to other modern buggies.

Yeah, I have to admit, the diffs are a pain to get to. I have to disassemble my entire front and rear ends to get into the diffs. But I am not convinced at the review R/C Car gave it. Until R/C Driver gives it a review, I wont hold onto what they say. R/C Driver magazine has always put forth great reviews and very constructive criticisms.
My first impression with everything at Zero, was anything but great. I thought it did very well for me. Perhaps the driver of the buggy was not as experienced in the nitro buggy arena? There could be several aspects to lead to that kind of verdict.

Several pro drivers participated in the review of the avenger for RC Car.
I would rather have a less than flattering honest review than I would a more flattering, less than honest review if the car is not that great. In short, I would feel cheated if I bought something based on a flattering review that was more about advertiser retention than the product being tested.

I just finished putting mine together but didn't have a chance to run it yet due to the holiday's. I have a Storm RTR and it was pretty good for my first 1/8. If this car handles better I will be very happy. I have a race this coming sunday and I will report my findings. Good way to break in the car!

Well here are my first impressions. First off a little background. I had a GS Storm RTR prior to getting the Avenger. I ran the same motor in both cars with the same pipe. Right off the bat when i put the car on the ground and ran the warm ups for the first qualifier I noticed that the car seemed to accelerate quicker then my Storm. At first I thought it was just my imagination but as I started to open her up on the straights I definatly could see a difference! It just seems to put down the power better. Next was the handling. It was very smooth. In the main turn 1 is usually very rutted and if you come in hot and try to drift through the turn you will usually flip the car or it well unsettle the suspension and you will get out of shape. The avenger seemed to handle the turn with no ill effects and held its line very well! Next is jumping (eveyones favorite). This thing just sails! Even if you take the jump slightly off it still will jump very level and is easy to control.
My overall feeling is that I am very happy with the car and can't wait to get more reps in with the car to get even faster lap times. I was the first one at my track to run the Avenger and everyone was complimenting the car on how well put together and beefy everything looks.

I'm assembling an Avenger right now......The first step is to assemble the Diffs. Mine are very cruchy and if I shim out the crunchiness, I feel there is too much backlash. I have an E-mail into Garen...Any suggestions?
