Hey guys, just got a hyper pbs and had a few questions. I noticed mine looked a little different than the ones on the ofna web site. For one the motor is black, not purple. Second it came with bot a pull start and a starterbox. And third it came with blue shock springs. Did I get a newer edition? Also does anyone have any break in tips for me?

that's strange...if motor head is black maybe it's a Hyper 4port instead a 8port...The hyper 8 port motor uses to come with a purple head and without pullstart...

the color of the head dont mean anything.

there are many versions from factory. hobao change kits like undies.

i even know some LHS do shifty stuff like changing the good parts for crap parts.[>:]

and i think that's happened this time...The Hyper 8 port for the PBS doesn't come with pull start...Post some pictures of your buggy...

some do & this has been discused before- the box dont mean crap and i learned this when i got my hyper. they have a clause that says they can change the looks and aspects of the product at any time. IMHO you are better off w/ the black head and it is the 8 port(for shure). so if you ever get another bug tell them you wont buy it unless you see it first!

u live in portugal. how do you know what usa or gb or asia hobao kits come with or what they look like.[&o]

so do you guys think it was switched or just a different "version" of the 8 port. I can't post a pic now but it is deffinetly a black cooling head with a purple rubber protector. The motor looks just like the pcr picture on the ofna web site but mine has a pull start. I don't care that the head is plack but I would be kinda mad if it wasn't an 8 port. I know a lot of people have the pbs, does anyone else have one with blue spring and a black motor w/ a pull start. I can't be the only one.

yes they all have the cap on them and are black. but they are 8 ports. and let me tell ya you either get a good one or a bad one- and i got a freakin bad one- it wouldnt keep running for crap. they say its the carb but, you mine as well buy a new motor for the price of a carb. and i have 5 motors and they all run great! this was the ONLY one i hated![:-]

PMSL. Thats because they are. The black head is the newer 8 port so you haven't been bummed on that. The fact you have gat the pull start and the box is a bonus for break in, but I advise you to bin the pull start as soon as the engine is broken in. Though if your just gonna be bashing it may be worth keeping. You obviously know a bit about nitro, so welcome to the buggy world.

The Hyper 7 comes with fuel filter????????????????????????

The hyper 7 comes with 2 Fuel filters (unless it's the TQ or Sport models, then it's 1) and an air filter included. The fuel filters are integral to the tank pick up and thers also an in line type supplied on most variants. The air filter though is a pretty standard single sage foam affair. Always ensure this is clean as a blocked filter is often the cause of poor performance.
