Default Tips for tuning chassis

Does any one have tips for tuning the chassis for the lightning 2 rr[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]? Would it be better as stock or stiffened up for sandy ground[8D]? Oh and how would it compete against a stock hyper 7pbs?

i have the lightning2, that started life as the rr, and now is pro-spec. the hop-ups can be done gradually but the first thing to do is get the 7075 cnc chassis stiffeners front/rear and possibly the 3.5mm pro shocks with white springs. Ive been using 40wt oil in the front shocks and 35wt in the rear. The steering on the lightnings pretty good and, as stock, it'll prove good around the track, but soon enough you will start upgrading to the pro parts.

oh and in case you didn't know a good place for lightning parts is here (2 pages),

Did you improve your brakes? Did it make much difference??

How much did it cost to upgrade to pro-spec? Mines been to the bottom of a sandy pond and still works. It now needs a new starting clutch but it will start (eventually)

don't know exactly, but its been quite expensive. i did put quad brakes on but when my new engine comes i will revert to the double front and just one rear. plenty braking power when adjusted properly.
you can see of my hop-ups here. photo's are poo quality (mobile phone pics).

Monte your buggy just looks so good! I would like to see a Lightning in action but it doesn't seem to have arrived in Denmark yet.
Which engine are you getting?

So anyone know how it would compete against a hyper 7 pbs (stock)?

How much difference does it make upgrading to pro?

Oh and any tips for the brakes? Mine just seem to slow it down gradually...

make sure your brake discs/pads are clean, adjust them by moving the collets in a bit. p.s you don't want to be skidding everywhere either.
like i said, stock it will perform well against the hyper pbs, but the pbs is higher spec. the hyper sport however is not as good as the lightning IMHO.

Thanx for the help.

I cleaned the car when it came out of that sandy pond. I'm hoping to find something to stop the car when it gets out of range.

Monte I've read that the pro kit is a 2 wheel drive [X(] car whereas the rtr is 4 wheel drive. When you upgraded to pro did you switch to 2 wheel drive?

And thanx for pointing out the rust. I've exterminated it
