Default engine preheating

can you all give me your opinions on if it would be beneficial to pre heat your engines to almost running tempreture before starting.thanks

Pre-heating process will reduce the piston and cylinder wearing and the stress to the conrod in certain extend compared with just starting engine at the ambient tempreture, which in turn will enhance engine life.

theres not much in it, id be inclined to start the engine and let it warm up a good minute before revving it more that 1/4 throttle.. it will take an engine about 2 laps to warm up..

But when the engine is completely new, I guess it should be preheated? Or is this not necessary?

I think yes,, especially when it's new,,,it's very helpful during the break in stage,,,once it has about a 1/2 gallon of fuel through it it doesn't really need to be preheated any more

Trinity has some tire warmers that would fit really good around the head of the engine; I'm not sure if you can buy them individually or if you have to go with a set of four.

I always preheat new engines during break in. As much to avoid wear and tear on my starter box as on the piston and sleeve assembly.

I'm thinking that maybe you could use a very simple assembly of these little semiconductor units that, if voltage is applied, it sends all the heat to one side. So technically you could heat an engine with those.
