I have a Duratrax Temp sensor, the $20 one. I changed the setting on it from 95E to 77E because that's what the book said for powdercoated aluminum, when I compared my temps with some other guys at the track that had much nicer guns, I was 30 degrees hotter and when I set it back to 95E then I was the same as them. I do not understand, can someone shed some light on this for me?

Not really, did you adjust for the colour of the head?
But for peace of mind, take your heatsink off, boil it in water, then measure the temp off it. Adjust your emissivity so your gauge reads 100 degrees C (or the equivalent in F).
