First off does the clutch bell and spur gear just sit and not move?
If yes then take a pucture with the clutch bell off if you can

If they are moving the problem is elsewhere, outdrive set screw posibly

this is all assuming that you have re-mounted the engine correctly and ensured that the bell is the correct distance from the gearbox? Is it???

Did you have the same problem and that's why you changed the clutch shoes??
Ckeck the set/grub screws that hold the outdrvie cups @ the front and rear gear boxes,,this is a very common thing to come loose on RTRs,,,loctite all these screws too

Hold the (4) wheels stationary by pushing down on the car and see if the spur gear will turn. It should NOT turn without it trying to move the car. If it does turn freely when you are holding the tires then it is either an outdrive screw loose or a diff gear(s) is/are blown. Have you taken the center diff out yet to check it ? Hold the spur gear and turn 1 outdrive and the opposite end should counter rotate. If it doesn't......blown diff gear(s).
