Ok I have a Sportwerks Mayhem buggy and I want to get rid of the .26 engine that is on it! I want to know what the best engine for under 200.00 is? Also for any of you who just use your buggy for play and would like a bigger engine I would consider trades for a good .21 engine with low time on it! Mine is basically brand new and prob isn't broke in yet!

Either the Picco P7-R or the OS VZB V-spec, both mills are reliable and I've run 2 of each for over 10 Imp Gallons each now. All are coupled to JP-2 pipes and run in various buggies, they are most definately serious race engines, easily keeping up with the £500 pro's modded mills. People are going to mention things like the RB's and Nova Rossis, but they are just short life lumps IMO.

lol I figures this would happen!
Can I get a good rb engine for 200.00 or less? If so where and what model is the best for the money? What about the Rossi? Also I have been eyeballing the Ofna engines. Are they any good?

Soory i didn't accept your offer to trade my nib V-spec with the sh .26.. I already explained in the returned mail
yes the P7-R are also very competitive to the V-specs. . You should had bought the 80% SWK1150 kit of the mayhem if you were planning to race.Anyway at least you get a good radio with the purchase

Your probably not going to find an engine that is a whole lot better than the stock .26 you already have for less than 200 bucks. The Collari LC21B3 is a pretty beastly engine and very solid. It runs for 220 on Ace. Heres the link: http://acehardwarehobbies.com/2.2/ca...oducts_id=6041 that engine will definitely provide more power for you than your stock engine. Plus you can't go wrong with Werks/Collari they are great engines and produce excellent power.

P5, 421B, Black magic, S7, WS7, WS7 to name a few. None have lasted as long as the V spec and none would have out paced the P7-R. Both V spec and P7-r have broken the 15 Gallon mark now and are still going strong. I adjusted the HSN for the first time today on the P7-r just to richen it as it finally started showing top end bog.

cronos are same pricing as novarossi and P5's they go for $220usd.
sirio evo2 are same price as p7r
also you cant compare a JP to a vspec. JP has ceramic bearings, hardened crank, and is a factory mod, so you will expect to pay more.

I'm curious about the Fantom .21? I just got a .12, says made in Japan on the side. Seems like a good sign. I might watch ebay and grab one for when my RG dies. I got a steel on the .12 if it turns out to be a good engine.

2 days ago you say 10gallons on vspec and 10 gallons on p7r. and now 2 days later you say 15 gallons, you do 5 gallons use in 2 days. are you sure, coz i think your vspec has 50 gallons on it

thats funny man. 10 gallons p7-r #1 , 15 gallons pc-r #2, 10gallons vspec#1, 15 gallons on vspec#2
thats 50 gallons in a few months, with the weather you have in england i don't think that is possible even if you tried to play all day every day. i smell b.s when i read it
now the truth.... vspec are fast engines, as fast as s7 and p5's and pretty good fuel economy, 8 or so minutes (not the 12 minutes claimed though)
however they do NOT hold compression like RB's do. not to mention some vspecs are a hit and miss affair with their main bearings.

10 minutes is easily achievable with the V-Spec...
Mike Craddock, the UK Kyosho Team manager won a recent meeting at slough UK by not having to pit for fuel for the whole 10 minute final with a V-Spec...
The amount Alex races and practices, it wouldn't surprise me if he has got through a lot of fuel, although 50 gallons does sound excessive over a few months, are you sure on your timescales qwerty? as I havent seen Alex say a few months?
PS we drive in all weathers here, if we didnt we would never race
