Default Somewhat new to Nitro Buggys, looking for advice

Im looking to purchase a Ofna Hyper 7 PCR Edition for my first nitro buggy, Im really wondering if this is a good choice or bad, my local hobby store has the full parts listing available for this model which i thought was very conveniant.
Im more of an RC Plane guy so other then owning a couple of hot electric buggys i know nothing about nitro buggys and could greatly use the advise [8D]
Thanks in advance

I am also new to buggies but not to RC, and I just ordered a Hyper 7 PBS...Did you mean 'PBS' or 'PCR'?

After doing some research, I decided they represent just about the best value for money as an intermediate/pro buggy, good enough to start my racing career, as they have the starter box and pretty reasonable engine and with a few hop ups they say they can keep up with the best. The more I read and hear, the more I think I made the right choice. Parts support as you said is superb, but you'll probably buy a lot of your stuff from ebay, it is sooooooo cheap on there. Good luck...

Your buggy is a better spec. but you may not find it so easy to whoop him out of the box, it depends what engine he has and how you both gear them. Are you getting it with the hyper 8 port engine? If so be sure to check through some recent posts about tuning and running this temperamental engine to get the best out of it.

Don't get the PCR...,GET THE PBS.It's the same thing only the PCR has lay down servos which are too difficult to fit and "tune",and offer nothing noticable in performance,...!!!!
I have the PCR and i prefer the PBS instead!!

IMHO-the PCR would be better. the PBS -pivot ball suspension -has more weight to it and more moving parts wich=more breakage. if you can take a look at both of then in front you will see the diff. 2 guys at the track had these when i got my hyper7 (c-hub) and they were breaking all the time. and if you are just starting then your gonna hit something and have some breakage. they are tough bugs i didnt break hardly a thing on mine. i just couldnt stand the motor(8port) it came out and i put a v-spec in. and yes alex i can tun and break in a motor you better check up on the starter box as well-i heard they are weak. try to look up the Mayhem they are a great bug for bashing and do great at the track. you can get them w/ the .21 sportwerks and i know for a fact they whoop butt. they also come w/a digi JR XS3i radio. and a roto start wich is easier to hall around if your gonna bash.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think that the PCR also has pivot ball suspension,c-hub goes on the hyper 7 and hyper 7 pro.
Check this out:

http://www.ofna.com/matrix.html

And i think the pivot ball suspension has stronger "moving parts" and bigger which can take more abuse, although on a race they get dirt insite and can "bite" on the suspension and steering!
That's why the c-hub is better for racing(correct me here...!!!)[&:]
