Default Which is better for a new buggy driver?

Ok, I have had 1 other nitro car but I bought it used so I didnt have to break it in or tune it. So I was wondering which of these 2 buggys are the better value for performace and reliability. here is the links http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...oducts_id=7433 and http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=11022 PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I JUST GOT THE MONEY AND I REALLY WANT TO ORDER IT SOON!!!

P.S. If there is a better begginer (but quality and performance) buggy please also mention that also please. Thanks for your time!

they both seem pretty similar to me. i dont really know that much about rc cars yet but iv heard the 8 port hyper engine is faster than the 4 port but less reliable. you might want to chek if they are ready to run as well. unless you want a kit.

i have the hyper 7 tq sport (not run in yet) and it seems very solid. just check how the servos link up with the bits theyre turning. i had to adjust the steerinjg one so it would steer straight and the trottle so the brake link bar thingy was tight enough so it would actually brake. you local hooby store should be able to do it for oyu anyway.

my hyper 7 apparently came with all the settings already ready for run in but im having trouble keeping it running with their settings. might be a one off though.

well, it doesnt say anything about it being a kit but it also doesnt say anything about not being a kit (being rtr)!!! but it says it comes with a clear, umpainted body. so does anyone know if its a kit or not because I DONT WANT TO BUILD IT! lol

the pbs is available as rtr (not sure if the link oyu sent was to the rtr version). i dont think the pcr is available as a rtr though. i may be wrong. i know that the standard hyper 7 and hyper 7 tq sports are definately available as ready to runs though if that helps.

there probably is rtr versions of both of them. its just that the links you sent seem to be for kits. go to the froogle section of www.google.com and search for hyper 7 rtr. that should bring up all versions of hyper 7 rtrs and the price for the page they were found on. seems the best way to find a decent price. or try ebay.

seems in order. thats quite a cheap price for it. check the delivery rates, they might make up for cheap prices with expensive delivery. other than that it seems a good deal.

ok if u want rtr - no of the two you post is have electronic i just to let you know

the only different is the PCR version $325 has lay down servo

the other one for $329 has upright servo.

if you are new i recomend u get the upright setup it easyer to fit and to adjust

then you can get c-hub version - this is better steering

I am surely going to get this http://www.hobbytron.com/Lightning-R...58&PID=1357071 it is the Lightning. Its super cheap and HAS electronics also. All it says I will need its a C-cell battery for the glow ignitor and some fuel. Does anyone have a good reccomendation for break-in fuel? I have a 3/4 of a gallon jug of Dynamite Blue-Thunder Sport Formula (20%). Is that good for my break-in process? If not please tell me what kind is good and how much of it I will need to complete break-in. Thanks and wish me luck with my new (first) buggy!!!

Default RE: Which is better for a new buggy driver?

Just wanted to let you know that I bought a savage before from hobbytron shipping was only like $10 and was delivered in a timely manner so as far as dealing with hobbytron they are easy to deal with. For the buggy though it says it has a .21 on it but I know some of them come with a force .26 engine which is extermely hard to break in and to get it to run right that is why mine only had about 1/4 gallon run though it before I pulled it out and put in a O.S. .21 RG engine and I am extremely pleased with it. Are you planning on racing? if so I think I would stay away from it and go with something more like the hyper 7 pbs because you can get it RTR but the PCR edition is a kit, my neighbor has one and it is awesome. I am not sure how much how much you are willing to spend but www.horizonhobby.com has the sportwerks mayhem RTR which has a shaft start .26 and also comes with a JR fm controller their price is $550 but my friend just bought one new in the box off ebay for $480 including shipping. If I was buying another buggy that is definately the one I would get if I am wanting a RTR. It comes out of the box setup ready to race but it would have to be in a class that you can run something bigger that a .21. Parts are also cheaper for it than Ofna parts and are probably easier to find than parts for the lightning.

OK, if you get a PBS from hong kong you'll get no warranty, starter box or radio gear. That's why they seem cheap. Your best of geting it form your LHS or an online store in the states, you'll receive the full on version and support that OFNA give. You will however need a high torque servo and 6V rx pack no matter which buggy you get.
