Really need advice for radio system purchase!
What's up, yo. I need something to control the new ride, tired of the old JR alpinaPCM 27mHz 2-channel I used with my GT the last 8 years. I want to control both vehicles with it, so this presents me with some issues I am torn on. I like the look of the japanese-built KO Propo Helios the best, it is cheaper than the Futaba, but the issue here is I like the Futaba's failsafe capabilities. I have heard bad things(and good things too) about onboard failsafes failing, and think PCM plus Throttle return spring gives me confidence. Any advice on the radios themselves and the failsafe issue?
Oh, and if I go Futaba, I was wondering how valuable the HRS digital servo only system is. I would prefer to go standard analog, don't need the extra speed and battery drain I think and problems with throttle servos. But I may be wrong...also, don't really want to change servos in the RC10GT...already need a second Rx for it...they are analog.

Oh nice, I just looked at the Spektrum website and that is awesome...What is the best way for me to buy the KO and DSM, money wise. It looks like 269+159 I might as well get the Futaba, although no crystals sounds nice. Also, can I use the receiver that comes with the KO in my RC10GT and the DSM Rx in the 777 and control both? Also, out of stock a lot of places...where to buy?

Thanks, so I guess I have to buy second receiver to run 2 cars? And what do I do with the stock FM receiver that comes with the system?

i have the 3pk pcm, and i love it. i haven't had good luck with digital servos. anyhow, the 3pk transmits in FM, HRS, and PCM. it depends on which receiver you order that determines the restrictions you have with using particular servos.

yeah, I am goin DSM, so I just need to decide between M-8, 3PK, and helios on looks, features and price. So far m-8 just transmitter no module for $159, helios Tx module only $209, 3PK not sure

^ What he said. Please don't buy something that still uses crystals. The JR is the best bang for the buck by far.

You can still get the synth module with the 3pk as well. It is far superior to the JR unit IMO. I have the 3pk and the XS3 and I really don't like the way the menus are set up on th JR, It will be sold very soon

The thing is that the synthsized FM Rx's are the same price as the Spektrum Rx's. So when I found that out I quit buying FM Rx and started buying Spektrum Rx's. The way I see it is why pay the same for something inferior.

Don't buy yet!
Look what was just announced:

So cool! Ko Propo stuff is so good, and now you can finally get it synthesized and with the JR name - great warranty and customer service. I can't wait to get it.
