the problem is the carb, and that the 4 port is a superior motor anyway. SMan was right , get another carb, any Rossi carb will do the trick too.. Failing that. tell me what pipe, fuel and plug you are using also ambient temps.. and ill tell you what to do..

hi, can i just ask or makesure, the 8-port engine, the only physical diffrence is the fact it has 4more exhause ports, this make the engine faster because it allows the exhause gasses to be expelled faster than on a standard engine. this is in the same way like a 16v engine on a 1:1 scale car or a 20v engine?! the exhause fumes go faster there by making the time taken for the piston to move back up alot faster, thereby making the momentum of the engine generaly faster.

well in my experience I find the 8 port faster but the 4 port is a hell of a lot easier to tune and keep it and more reliable

The exhaust port is no different between the 8p and the 4p
the 8 port engine just has more intake ports,

had enough is right. 8 port is really a 4 port but with 4 extra lube ports. 2 smaller boost ports at the front with extra lube ports and same on the sides..
