all of the rtr bugs go about 35 to 40mph. the mayhem has a great motor. both the .21 and .26 are good mills. its not how fast it goes its how well your pimp are can wheel it............

You should really do a search before posting a new thread ya know, this is another question asked by a different noob every month...I can't understand the obsession with top speed...these cars go as fast as you want them to. For the price of a clutch bell (and maybe a spur), you can make the mayhem do 80mph if you want. This is not what driving 'racing' machines is all about...if you want a car that puts out 3hp at best to do insane speeds, then you need a long run to get there and you're sacrificing acceleration to an unacceptable degree...believe me your (hypothetical) mates with their savages and REVOs are more likely to go 'Cooooool' when they see your bug hit 40mph and cover 50M in a matter of seconds than if they have to squint off into the distance to see your car somewhere half a mile away......with you shouting 'yeh, but it's doing 70mph right now!' - whoopty doo, I can't even see the bloody thing...
If you want super speed out of the box, get a Jato or that CEN thing that does 70 out of the box...buggies are about control under pressure and difficult circumstances...not high top speeds...rant over...sorry I went off on one a bit...nothing personal, honestly, welcome to the forum...Mayhem seems to be a great buggy for starting in 1/8th according to a lot of people around here...

had my tested with radar on the track, down about a 120 foot straight. It hit 34 mph. Seems really fast on the track, and it got to top speed before it was half way down the straight....on a track it's all about how fast you get to top speed, how fast you slow her down, and how good she turns...
