In the U.K. is the 8 port Pro the same as what we call the 8 port Race here in the US? If so, I wouldn't get one. I have the 8 port race and the carb is a pain in the butt. To make it easier to tune you will probably end up getting a carb (like the OS 20e) to replace the stock one.
A number of us have switched over to the OS RX engine as it tunes easily, hold its tune and is killer on medium and technical tracks. I have seen it hold its own on a 120 foot straight with a modded RB! Don't be fooled by the price of this engine - it really is a great engine - that is if you can get one in the UK I don't know about that.
Not sure if you are racing at a pro level or not -- but if not - the Mach .26 is a good engine too with a great price.

Hi
I would go for the P5 or the RB S72 both should be in your price range i.e 21 8 port pro.
Check out Top Option.

I`ve got a hyper 21 8 port pro and it`s a pain to keep in tune. But one thing I have found that may help .
They run differant when you first start them to when they are fully warmed up, ie run fine to start with then start to cut out when you open the throttle as if its got an air leak or to much fuel. I`ve found that if you lean the MSN (1/8 turn at a time) it can cure this problem. But remember it might not run right when cold so don`t try to retune until it`s fully warmed up 270f 280f. These engines like it hot. A lot of people like an OS 8 plug for this engine but I prefer a Mcoy 9, they seem to do well for me.
