Default Looking for the cheapest .21 car engine on the market.

I need to find the cheapest retailing .21 on the market. Performance specs not important. It needs to be a .21, have rear exhaust, air cooling, a carb of course and have a pilot shaft.

Yeah it's for a 'secret' engine modding project.

Already got a few of those. Thank you. They are great for modding.
Any cheaper off-brand/no-name engines out there? I think thunder Tiger has a cheap one but I'm not sure (Sorry for the off-brand/no-name label of TT )

Remember I am going to mod this into oblivion. I'm looking for something <$70 or so (if possible) and make it run like a...... I don't know what.

Project outline:
Find cheap engine -----> make it beg for mercy until it can't take it anymore.

Interesting.

Where can I get one of those engines shipped with the SHO buggy? They can't be very expensive right?

The engine that comes with the SHO is a Team Infinity engine.

It costs 84$ at rcmart. But you should be able to find it cheaper.

Thinking here about your project...an ebay B01 is going to have a pullstart most likely, which wont be very good for a mod project unless you have a backplate that will fit it. Also I heard somewhere that the O.S. RG engine takes well to modding. My guess is that most sub $100 engines, while you can find some decent performers there...they wont be built with the high quality materials and tolerances to withstand aggessive porting/timings that mods strive for. I might be completely wrong, I dont mod engines...I dont pretend to know alot about it...but I wouldnt go with anything cheaper or lower quality than the o.s. rg.

I kind of came to the same conclusion. The OS is cheap and have great quality.
The other aspect of the project was to make a POS no-name .21 beat the crap out of a $400 mill. Yeah I know, just for show

Back in the day of boat racing I made it a point not using the most popular marine engine (CMB) and usually used slightly off-brand engines like MOKI and Kalistratov (K-45), and I was successful with it too.

(The K45 was the best engine I have ever owned period)

Thank you.

I think Duratrax makes a cheap .21 I saw some going on ebay for about $79.00 , I think it is the motor they put in those bazooka buggies .

The bazooka comes with a Vertex engine. And I wouldn't recommend that one as an object for modding!

That is the Vertex engine. Much better to spend 20$ more and get an OS RG.

Has anyone ran the LRP.28 yet? I was wondering how it ripps compared to like a mach 26, or wasp 26. How is the tuning also? Does it hold a good tune or is it like the wasp 26 where u have to keep the idle a little high so it doesnt quit on ya if u give it half throttle and let off. Im running the wasp 26 in my hotbodies truggy right now but want a little more for the track(novarossi 28 is getting me in the straights).

Thanx for the info in advance

Great suggestions.
I've got 2 or three 15 year old OPS .21 marine engines laying around. Could be something but they will need new cooling heads.
