Can someone tell me the difference between Novarossi P5 and P5x? Have searched the forum and looked and Novarossi's page but I can not figure it out!

P5X has a 2needle carb and a 14mm bearing. I have one and I love it. Super easy to tune and holds a tune well. (I also think the cooly head is a little different but not 100% on that

Sorry for a stupid question but I guess that P5x has one LSN and one HSN then. But how many needles does the P5 have?

i thought both the P5 variants had a 14mm crank & bearing!
i would give you the eaxact specs but Novarossis site is down at the moment
(so from memory)i thought the P5X had a slightly bigger external diameter rear bearing at 25.8mm as opposed to the 25mm one of the regular version, a 2 needle carb instead of the 3 needle carb that a few people couldn't get on with & a slightly different crank without the epoxy resin stuffing in it along with slightly different crank timing to stop it "hitting" so hard!
apparently the P5X is a little smoother in its delivery

thats about all i can remember difference wise, well its all the important stuff anyway

The 3 needle carb is kind of a pain to tune. For me at least, I have only been tuning these things for 2 summers now so the extra needle just adds confusion.

(If anyone is interested in trading a composite novarossi 2 needle carb for a lightly used (100% functional, good condition) composite novarossi 3 needle carb, send me a pm.)

show you are right they dont hit as hard on bottom but it is not weak on bottom at all its VERY hard to tell the diff between the 2. the bearings are laser lined so they are perfect. the case is also a bit larger to allow for the larger rear bearing. the carb also has more cooling fins on it to cool the carb better.

Well. My son, got a rex p5x in his mug, and he loves it, Super smooth engine, the difference as far as on track is that it goes through the power bad smooth, the original p5 would pull hard only at first, but the p5x goes all the way through super strong. My son really loves this motor, he basically has told me that he wont be changin motors anytime soon, he will also be getting this motor for his truggy. And it is SUPER easy to tune.

Differences: needles, design of crank for better fuel consumption, air cooled carb with fins. A few others also, cant remmeber.

In addition to the above, the P5X is suppose to have more top end than the P5.

they use the same plugs, the X is just to differentiate it from the original P5. the P5X T uses turbo plugs, hence the T.
