Default RE: Which Motor?

depends on the size track as well. i go to a lot of them and ive found the P5 to be a great motor. it really does well in the short sections and the long right at the end of a strait im topped out and ready for the next corner. the WS7 i have had as well and it is easier to drive for a beginner. the bottom end is not so harsh (balistic) it is smoother. the ws711 is more of a top end but w/ the right pipe it can pull at the bottom as well. the 421 is a bit harder to tune day to day. the P5 imo is the best and holds its tune very well. i have the P5 & P5X the X is not so crazy on bottom but its still a beast all around. it has the new 2 needle carb- 1 less thing to worry about...

I agree with you based on everything I've read about the P5x. I'm a fan of 2 needle carbs. I'm an ok tuner but the less stress the better So the P5x is the 2 needle? the P5 is a 3 needle?

Awesome. Thank you for the clarification! Gonna buy one today! I have the JP1, Jp2 and 086 pipe. Short track jp1? big track jp2 or 086 depending on the straightaway? What do you think? does my logic make sense?

If i was you i would buy a modded p5, they are insane. I recommend eb mods, get a p5 from them and break it in slowly. After you get it broke in you will not believe the power, and then after you get a gallon or so through it, it settles in and goes even faster. I swear to you a modded p5, is by far the baddest engine on the planet. Hands down without a doubt. line them up and pack a lunch son, these thing make a buggy fly.

really no need for a modded P5??? why mess with something thats already more than enough power. and some mods are harder to tune. as for the pipes - JP2 will prob be the best bet. the p5 has so much bottom the jp2 makes it run perfect and you will get lees wheel spin = faster laps and better fuel consumption.

The P5X is not the same motor they have redone the timing on it so it does not have quite as much low end grunt as the original P5

Default RE: Which Motor?

just so EVERYONE knows !!! i have both and have run them (p5 & p5x) in my car back to back in the same hour. the new one is not that much different at all. you would have to be a PRO to tell the diff. believe me it is still a stump puller........and then some! its more power than most can handle on the track. i switched motors 3 times just to see how much the new one was changed. both w/ the same clutch ,and it was hardly noticeable at all.
