Mainly a longer chassie + engine mounted 1.5mm more to the rear + parts to make this work.

Well to me, every 1/8 scale buggy looks basically the same.

How much more is the sp2 than the sp1 as thats not much of an upgrade.

A-main hobbies seels the SP1 for $470 and the SP2 for $700.
The SP2 they sell is actually a SP1 + SP2 upgrade kit. The upgrade kit alone (KYO36541) is $280.

What? No MP777 to SP2 just SP1 to SP2? No wonder the MP777 is dirt cheap right now and the SP1 is still 450. Kinda a ripoff to those who want to upgrade. We aren't paying for IMPORTING fees anymore yet prices stay where they have always been?

I don't see why the SP2 kit wouldn't work on a standard 777. What you will be missing is the parts that makes it a SP1 to start with (shocks, TCD diff, Alu stays for radio, universals, milled ackerman plate, turn buckles).

I think the Std 777 + SP2 kit comes pretty close. You get the geometry change that is the big deal on the SP2. Am I wrong here?

$560 for a 'close to' SP2. Add the missing turnbuckles, shocks and universals ($160) and you got yourself a SP2 for MORE than what a SP1 + conversion kit will be , and it's still not a true SP2.

There is no way to a cheap true SP2.

if you can tell the difference between having blue vs silver anodizing on a shock you are a better man than I
I installed the teflon pistons in mine and can not see a difference in smoothness over my k3 shoks on my dom
the upgrade kit comes with the center universals so all you realy need is the back pair for about 25 bucks ebay
you can also just buy the fronts and keep them from poping out like the sp1's did on my friends car so i would say besides the turnbuckles it is a wash
my 777 sp2 conversion dogbone swinging car should be just fine

there are no bad K cars just bad drivers

its all "NEW" to SUCK you in to buying their new product . every one of the manufactures does this. really if you think of geometry you dont want a longer wheel base. you sometimes want wider not longer??? just get the sp1 and you will be smilin ear to ear and your wallet will be happier also!!!

the sp2 kit is just a easy way for me to freshin up my battle scared 777 not so special
my shock towers are tweaked and the chassis is looking a little worse for ware
I am going to install the kit this winter and get the car to look like new so I can stare at it once the snow flys
if I am lucky I will pull off third in our points race
second and first are locked in by a 14 year old kid with quick reflexes and his dads wallet
and the owner of the track

The SP-2 kit helps out a lot! Most of the kit is need to do it right.
The only things that are not needed are the Ti hinge pins (but are sweet) , air filter and front shock tower. Which all are great to have.
The rest of the kit serves a purpose and it is a noticeable difference between the two. It's more planted and has more rear travel. It has just as much steering but more stable.
Get rid or the LSD front diff. It makes it twitchy and has less adjustments. It's cost $16 to convert to a regular diff.
