has anyone seen beadlock wheels for 1/8 scale buggies. i think i saw it before, but i don't remember.
can you post a link if you've seen them? they don't have to be aluminum. and type of material is fine.
thanks guys.

They aren't beadlocks, but you can get aluminum buggy wheels from crazy nut racing. They are 100 bucks though. Doesn't really seem worth it since they will be heavier, and I have never broken a plastic one despite jumping off rooftops, etc. But they would be a great shelf queen part I would imagine.

RE: bead locking buggy wheels
I think that did a gread job illustrating the different mindsets between two types of R/C models. Bring up billet bead lock wheels in the truck forums, and people cheer, for their durability, and bling factor. Same thing in a buggy forum and people look at you funny because it would slow you down in a race.
Maybe its profiling, but it seems pretty accurate to me. Monster truck drivers invest tons to look awesome and be durable at the expense of performance. Buggy drivers invest tons for performance, with the only real bling part being a body and maybe a couple cnc braces.
Not that either side is right, but definitely different views.

RE: bead locking buggy wheels
Interesting topic for a change...from a purely racing point of view, beadlocks would seem overweight and too cumbersome to be effective at all.
On the other hand, beadlocks would enable the racer to test different foams/tire compounds much easier than the current glue job method.
Aluminum is definately out of the question for 1/8 buggies due to the penalty of rotational mass, but lightweight plastic like the Maximizer beadlocks for monster trucks could prove to be a useful tuning option.
