get a mugen mbx5, kyosho 777, or xray xb8r, the servos they come with should be pretty comparable to the ones on the hypers.

The PCR RTR is just a PBS with lay down servos, and a couple of other things that don't matter much. And the more useful parts are not on the PCR RTR. In fact, I don't think it has one PCR part on it. You'd be money ahead to get the PBS, and go form there. There's nothing wrong with either car, I just think the PCR RTR is too much money for what you get over the PBS. Even the RTR is fine if you don't mind replacing servos. The plastic starter box that comes with the PBS is nothing to brag about. The wheel doen't last long, and it's just not that though. The PBS is priced right however, with or without the starter box. The RTR is about 10 or 15 bucks less. My advice would be to get the PBS or RTR, and use the extra cash to put towards more useful hop-ups like tires, electronics, ditching the pull-start, or maybe a useful PCR part or two. Youy can even get into a Hyper7 TQ Sport kit for 239 bucks from Tower, and choose your own engine, and radio gear. If you really want to go with a top notch kit, get the Pro, and build it yourself, and choose your own stuff to finish it up. Along with the stronger servos, you'll need to get a 5-cell reciever battery and charger for it. The double "A" batteries won't let your high torque servos perform due to lack of voltage, and short run times.

If you want a RTR, go for the PBS RTR, it is the same as the PCR RTR which I have, but without the annoying lay down servo setup. People have so many problems with other RTRs but mine has been perfect since day 1.

All RTRs will have sub-par servos included in the kit. At LEAST upgrade the steering servo. It would also be a smart thing to invest in a 20$ Ofna Failsafe and a 5 cell receiver pack. Junk the 4AA holder.

Depending on your budget, the recommendation would probably change greatly. Here's a break down on pricing... Im going by nitrohouse and towerhobbies prices...

RTR:
PBS RTR - 459.99
SMC 5-Cell Flat Receiver Pack - 17.99
Ofna charger for receiver pack - 7.59
Hitec 645MG servo for steering (What I'm using) - 39.99
Total: about 525$

Kit, No Budget
PCR Pro - 474.95
JR XS3 Radio with servos - 199.99
Good quality servos for throttle and steering - about 150
Ofna chrome top starter box w/ power panel, 12v batt, charger - about 125
OS. 21RG (cheaper motor but a good one) - 109.99 (Choice of motor is up to you, but unless you really want crazy power, the RG is fine)
Receiver pack and charger
Total: about 1000

Kit, lower budget
Hyper 7 TQ Sport - 239.99
JR XS3 Radio with servos (use Z590 for steering and the other for throttle) - 199.99
Ofna chrome top starter box w/ power panel, 12v batt, charger - about 125
OS .21RG - 109.99
Receiver pack and charger
Total: about 650

You should try to do a search on this forum. The break-in of a Hyper 21 has been discussed many times.

I think that the Bess method is the way to go.

Since it's your first nitro, just know it isn't as easy as it looks on your first time around. Be patient, and if you aren't 100% sure what to do, ask here first before you possibly make a problem worse.
