I don't use anything but starter boxes, oh wait I do have one pull start on my TNX. But I haven't personally used a Roto Starter on mine. I run a Sportwerks .26 engine in my 777 SP-2 and even though mine has the back plate, they do come with a Roto Start for them too. My buddy has it in his Mayhem ST and it seems to work good.
So, if an engine is what you are looking for, you might want to check out a Sportwerks .26. It's a great engine for the $$$.

As far as an OS .21RG, I have a back plate on mine but have seen pull starts on them too. Never seen a Roto start on one, but it might be possible? I will have to see what some of the bashers by my house are running.
I have a HPI pull start on my TNX .18 (made by OS) so I'm thinking that the HPI rotor start for the Mach or other similar engine might work. Not 100% sure though, but some place to check.
