The 75mhz is more popular, because they have more range to choice. Why you want more range? more option of frecuency is for to avoid interference or conflict. The 27mhz yo dont have a lot of option to choice.

"do you want tx, rx or both "
tx = transmition
rx = receiver
With this information, of course you need both.

"what is a module "
One of the big advantage of pro radio is they have the modular option. You can change a better modular for you request.
You also change the module for change the frecuency 27 or 75.
I can recomend to buy the spektrum module.

Most high end radios are available without a receiver this makes it cheaper for people who want to upgrade to a spectrum system or some special set up if this is not your case, you should get the receiver with your transmiter unless of course you already have a FM receiver with compatible crystals to fit your M 11.

M11 can be bought with several packages :
- m11 full package consist TX + FM Module (At TX) + Receiver + 2 13 Kilos Sanwa ERG-VX
- M11 TX only, consist TX only (without module and else)
- M11 TX+RX consist all except two servos

Module at M8/M11 consist : AM, FM, Spektrum.

Make Sure you'll need M11 features before you buy it.
i play off road and lots of its feature i didn't use or even understood except Exp, EPA, ALB, Setup.
i choose M11 coz i like its style especially when you combine it with spektrum.

cheers

1 Yes you can upgrade to a spectrum system later on
2 That system will work out of the box all you need are sevos and batteries

and does the one that comes with the module doesnt have a receiver right. but a module is what goes in the back of the radio
I can't understand what you're trying to say here, is this a question or a statement?
The module is the part that sends the signal, all radios must have one in the case of these high end radios they are removable and upgradable.
I hope this clears up some of the fog.

Echoing the feelings of the guy above, are you sure you need the functions of the M11?
A synthesized fm radio from JR or Airtronics will give you more than enough functions to satisfy your 1/8 buggy needs.
Unless you drive 1/4 or 1/5 scale cars most of the functions are not needed.
