well...its starting to get cold here and since im extremely sensitive to cold weather(cus of my injury) im seriously thinking of putting up all my rc's till next summer..[]
I was just wondering what you guys do during winter?..keep playing?..store em till next summer?...

If you do store them what all do you do to your car before you store it?

i suggest that you look into the new mini-LST coming out in november. 200 dollars with syntesized FM radio, dual 370 motors, inclusive 6 cell battery and charger. it's complete except for the batts. for the transmitter

BN, I'm sorry to hear about your condition,but keep your head up We've migrated to One Stop raceway in Russellville since the end of the season at Alison's. I'm going to put the XB8 to the test this Saturday. But other than that, winter is the perfect time to tear down and rebuild.

I run mine all winter long....but it was 90 here....We get to race all year long, except when it rains.

I got a question I know when it gets colder and the air gets denser you run your engine rich unstead of lean well when doing this do you run a hotter plug or what... I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for.

Seeing it frequently hits -40 here in winter I like to keep my nitro stuff nice and warm in the house.Then you must go on the hunt for an indoor track

well, it might be you can use your time in winter to rebuild your buggy so when it will come to race at top condition

You can run a hotter plug when it gets colder. I've noticed it depends on the engine though. Small block seem to be more finicky than big blocks. Plus it comes down to how cold it gets. Run it with the same plug for a tank, then switch to a hotter plug and see how it works.

I decided to turn to 1/10th indoor electric this winter, seeming as some of the national champs home tracks are very close to me so I get some serious competition and dont have to decake the bug every sunday afternoon.

if you plan on letting your toyz sit for the winter. i would do as mentioned. then buy some maverl mystery oil and put a few drops down the carb and rotate. then put a few down the cylinder and rotate and replace plug. you should be good togo for te winter. depending how damp it gets and where i am i will go as far as getting some silacet(that moisture absorbing stuff that come w/ high end electronics) and put the engine in a zip lock bag after doing mentioned tip and close it up. as far as electronics i do the same minus the oil. the chassis gets a through hosing of wd40 after cleaning


i think i only had to do this once. after that i said forget it and run them when its not raining. as far as keeping warm, with todays winter outer wear and pocket warmers(i.e. 1/18 scale bat pax make good pocket warmer) you could all ways sit inside yer car w/ the heater running and play that way please have window crack for ventilation. get the neighborhood kids to flip the buggy over when it does happen[8D]

If it has never seen any fuel inside it, then I don't think that there should be any need to do anything. I assume you will keep it inside in a normal livingroom and not in a damb and cold cellar.

Ok dude, you can still run all year. We get -20 degrees here and avg 150" of snow. Well maybe you live high up? how cold is the winter down there?

That sounds like our winters here in Montreal, Canada. This will be my first winter with a nitro buggy... How do you run your buggy in that cold? Different plugs? Also, do cover the head to help keep the motor warm?
