Default Hyper 7 2 speed tranny in an X1-CR

Morning people,

Im new to this forum, but have been lurking for a while now. [sm=tired.gif]

I have a Hong Nor X1-CR and want to bung in a 2 speed tranny. Will the hyper 7 tranny fit in to my ride. Also what type of mods would it require.

Cheers

may i ask why do you want 2 speed tranny for buggy ?
it's not that durable if you choose to upgrade it to 2 speed

2 speeds are not good if you use the buggy on a track.

The Jammin X1CR and the Hyper are from two different companies, so the parts from one can't normally be used on the other. But of course, anything can be done with enough modifications.

Well, I want a 2 speed in my buggy just because.......I can

It'll give better bite and a higher top speed so if minor mods are possible to fit it....Then why the devil not ehh???

I need to get a new chassis at some point as I have been bashing a VERY stoney track near me which has put a few deep dents in it. I figure I could make the necessary mods to that chassis to see if it works ok.

What are your thoughts and will I just have to re drill the center diff holes?

TA

installing 2 speed tranny in buggy also means that your centre diff will be removed.

BTW, i don't think you could fit hyper's 2 speed int x1cr correctly.
Both diff mounting are different.

But you could make it happen if you bring hyper centre diff mount along to you x1cr, but that als mean that you have to drill center diff mount holes (screws) in chassis.
that'll bring a lot to do, plus you also have to measure centre drive shaft length to fit hyper diff mount.

never tested before but i think that'll be a lot of pain if you insist to do that

no offense, but that's just my opinion

cheers

The Jammin X1-CR is made by Hong Nor. The Hyper is made by Ho Bao, so the it is not likely that they will be compatible. However, the 9.5 series of buggies is also made by Hong Nor (in fact the Jammin replaced the 9.5 as flagship buggy for the company). This car also has a two speed tranny that may fit your application. Or at least would probably require less modification. I would suggest calling Ofna, or checking their forum to see if anyone else has attempted to perform this already. No point buying a $100.00 transmission that you can't use.

OFNA is only the U.S. distributor. They don't really make anything. They import buggies to the U.S. from two DIFFERENT companies. One is Hong Nor (Jammin X1, Ofna 9.5/Violator/Ravager/Blazer), and Ho Bao (Hyper 7/8, Hyper 1-7, Ultra buggies).

If you look online and find foreign sellers who sell OFNA kits cheap that don't say OFNA anywhere on the pictures or box, its because they are selling from the original brand, not the OFNA re-branded kits. In some cases the original kits are actually better from what I have heard. Such as the Ho Bao Hyper Pro UK, which is supposedly better than the OFNA Hyper 7 PCR Pro.

Ultras are made by HN.

Right. Ex: If you buy the X1CR in Hong Kong, you get a tuned pipe instead of a radio bag.

here are the links of both original site :
www.hobao.com.tw

www.hongnor.com.tw

in all words, both company are great. they bring high quality material in their product especially in pro version.

BTW, i'm not sure if x1cr in hongkong come with tuned pipe ?
is it JP pipe ? wow, if yes. i'm going to online order it from hongkong.

JP pipes are great.

i think you can't compare hyper7 pro UK with Hyper7 PCR Pro coz it differ both.
PCR version is Paul Coleman modified version and 7 pro UK is the original one which is Long Chassi Version
