Unless it is a rusted out chassis I would say its a pretty good deal if the chassis is in good shape. Beware of people saying their motors have only so much fuel through them though, usually untrue. Will prob need a new mill and depending on electronics, might need an upgrade there.

If i bought it i would probably put an os .21 that i have in it and sell the picco on ebay or something anyway. Ive seen the chassis its near mint. It is at my lhs and the guy is just trying to unload it.
could i race this and would i be able to compete?

I don't see why this would be a great entry into racing. 95% is driving IMO

I was meaning entry level to 1/8th scale racing.

I have seen OFNA MBX's run in races and do quite well, a GS storm has a better set up then most RTR's so I doubt you will have a problem. Don't know about upgrades though.

I need a bit of help please........I'm the Dad that bought my son (12yrs old) too much car. He is learning quite a bit. Our problem is the pull starter has craped out. After some asking around we are confused about what starter we should buy........a drill or roto starter ? or a box type that you set the buggy on. Sorry if my questions are stupid but ya got to start somewhere.
The buggy is a GS Storm bought 2 yrs ago, and kinda sat around till now.
Thanks

If you're going ot keep a .21 in it, a bump starter is what you need. It spins the flywheel from a cutout in the bottom of the chassis.

I'm doing the same thing, I picked up a GS storm Pro for $100.00 with servos, and a hyper .21, which seems to have an air leak somewhere. The parts on the Pro seem really well built, much better than the kyosho parts, and right on par with the Mugen's, and everything is SO MUCH CHEAPER!!!

two weeks later I now have a new rex 421b, and a OS RG for back up. All i am going to spend money on is engines now.

I'm going to test the idea that its all about driving and car set up. I feel for the guys with their X-rays and prospecs and SP2s when they get abused by a three year old storm Pro, LOL...

before I got out, I had a mugen mbx 5 prospec, and a kyosho 7.5, both of which seemed to have the ability to have a good bit more travel than the storm, is there any way to increase the travel without cutting too much A-arm out?

Also, does anyone know if GS has a shock for the storm with 3.5mm shafts? I replaced the front shocks with mugens since one was bent.

1: it is 95% driver and 5% car
2: I run an XB8....bring it beotch (my track has been closed for a few months, I just want to race somebody again dammit)

Get the Kyosho K3 or 777 shocks and you're done w/ blowouts and bent shafts

probably a lil longer but that never seemed to be an issue on ANYTHING I've used them on.....I use Kyosho 1/8 scale shocks on all my offroad RCs.....they just don't blow out or bend like others do...even the Mugen shocks bend too easily IMO......

Will one of these these work? seems like a better way of starting.......
thanks
