A return spring is better.
The failsafe is useless if your power connector gets disconnected, or your linkage breaks, or the batteries in your Tx dies.

SManMTB I agree with you..this is the principal purpose of the fail safe. You can check the failsafe to work. Only disconect the power of the TX and you can see the car stop.

a failsafe will protect if you get interference, or go out of range, i run both failsafe & return spring, they're cheap insurance for an expensive buggy. the failsafes i use also kick in when the battery gets low, so it will cut in before you run out of power entirely. if the power is suddenly cut, the return spring kicks in.

RTS are just a PITA...I've taken to pretty much only running at the track or my favorite construction site.......if I did manage to break a linkage I know it's not going too far...might blow up but at least it won't get far..LOL....I hate the inline fail safes anyway...nothing but issues w/ digital servos.....kept shutting off for no reason.....and I don't use a power switch..just plug right into the Rx......limit your posibilities of failure through regular maintenance is what I do......
