everyone has to start somewhere!!!. Hell, when I first started out the only thing I was good at was crashing!!!. Dont try to move up in classes until your ready---and drive at a pace that you are comfortable with---work on finishing a qual and main then work on going faster. most important--------------have fun!!!!!
good luck and hope to see you at the races!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am looking forward to gettin some tis seeing as how i spun it out alot yesterday.i would try to tune the chassis or mess with it to see what i could improve but i think ill pass on that for now.ill just drive it like it is until i get the feel for it.one good point for the run was that i was able to finally clear the table top jump.i was afraid to goose it over it for quite awhile.but, curiousity overcam me and i lined up on it and promptly flipped over the buggy.lol.but i started runnin back and forth over it and during the last 15 mins was clearin the table and landing on the down ramp pretty well.so an accomplishment nonetheless out of the day.i will not be entering any races until i can navigate the track without spinning out at a good rate of speed and until i am not freaked out by the jumps and mogul sections.i certainly do not want to hold folks up because of my poor driving ability.so for now i will settle for runnin an hour and a half 3 times a week after work and then several hours on sunday.and i will continue to watch the race and watch the lines people take.my son who is 5 has informed my wife and i that he wants a "gar/c"from santa.so i am thinkin i will get him a decent electric from the hobby shop.somethin not so expensive but able to take some abuse.he enjoys runnin around the compound where they race so i know he will enjoy it with a car even more.maybe a mini 18?also the lhs here has been super helpful.cannot say enough about them.hopefully ya'lls are just as good.thanks for the encouragement.

Hey guy,
I was at the track a few weeks and it was also my first time. What a blast unfortunately I flipped mine over and it cut out. That was the end of that but, what a thrill. Anyway now I sit waiting for the cold winter to be over. Mean while I clean and prepare my buggy.
good luck and race on !!!!

hi motohead glad you had fun at the track!!!
one thing to remember mate is that consistency is the key
even if your the slowest on the track if all the other guys crash, flame out and break stuff then you
will win. and ask some guys at the track to help you with your setup normally everyone is real nice and can help you heaps
what car do you have?

^^^ Yup, slow is fast. The fastest way around the track is going slow enough to not crash or need to be marshalled. Once you're a little more comfortable, you can push your speeds up a bit and find out where you can and can't go faster. Watch other drivers (while you're not driving of course) to see the lines that they take through tough spots. Be friendly and talk to people, you can learn a lot.
