Default filling differentials

I am filling my differentials for my hyper 7... the instructions are as follows...

apply diff oil or grease before closing. fill the cross pins.

does that mean fill to the cross pins?

and what happens if i fill them all the way?

thanks

Yes it means fill it to the top of the crosspin, if you overfill the diff it can cause the diff to leak and malfunction.

Thanks!! Just finished the front and rear... i suppose that fluid will heat and expand?

Sorry if i sound like a moron, but this is my first rc car and i have about half an idea as to what is going on... mainly due to the japanese to english translation that is written... yikes... i have a friend that does translation work on technical manuals for a living and i would kick his butt if he wrote some of the stuff that is in that manual!!
