Default Buggy on a budget

Hey guys, can you recommend a buggie for a nitro newb like me for under $300? I am looking at the Ofna LX GT COMP right now, and looks like a good performer. I will be mostly bashing till i find a good place to race it. I am planning to jump it at extreme heights...i need a durable bug...suggestions?

Yeah one of the Hyper 7's would be a better choice then a Ofna Comp. Spend a lil bit more and you'll be happy you did.

As the expression goes "You can have it good, you can have it fast, or you can have it cheap - pick two".

I would say your best bet for getting something decent on a budget is to play the eBay game. I've scored some fantastic deals that way... but there is always the associated risks as well.

my grandma doesn't want to use eBay [:'(]. Should I just go with the MP7.5? It looks to me like it is a sweet buggy...but the engine i a lil bit small. Does this buggy have to be built? cuz the online instructions show that you have to build it, but its nowhere to be mentioned on the site.

stay away from any RTR w/ th eword "sport" in it.....you have been given a suggestion or opinion on th ebuggy you asked about.....I'll say it too....the Hyper-7 would be MUCH better for you.....put it this way, spend 300 on a crap buggy that won't last....it can if you are just VERY good at maintaining it (tear down and clean it regularly, ARO after you run it, blah blah blah)....Maybe you can see if grams could wait a lil and you could get another 100 up....get teh HYPER.....it's abou tthe cheapest way to get into this hobby and not have a POS that won't last...then your grams is out 300 bucks and you have a pile of useless aluminum and plastic.....

get the ofna ravager they are like $350 at towerhobbies, plus you get $25.00 off so its actually $325.00. Its a tuff buggy its based off the 9.5 C-hub buggy not the crappy king pin violator, plus its comes with a wickedly fast force .28!!!

I Bought an MP7.5 sport before christmas.... and now i've bought a hyper 7. The forums are here to be listened to, get the 7.5 if you wish but its a waste of money! In fact if you really want a MP7.5 I've got one you can buy off me

Don't get the 7.5 Sports! If you are set on a 7.5 you should take a look at a used 7.5 Kanai III on ebay. They can be had for cheap with tons of upgrades. Just look carefully for one that looks good and you will get a 400% better deal.
