Pretty much the only way is to buy a better engine. I have no experience with the Rex-X so I can't tell you how the stock engine compaires to others but any .21 to .28 and some .32 size engines will fit in it. Look into some of these engine manufactures: sporwerks, O.S., Novarossi, and RB Concept. You can change the clutch bell gear too. More teeth on the clutch bell gear gives you more top speed and less teeth gives you more acceleration.
